13. Pecos National Historic Site

Pecos was a major trading center for Indians from the southwest to trade with Plains Indians from the Midwest. Pecos National Historic Site, like the Salinas Pueblo sites are very similar in that they are former ancient Indian settlements that the Spanish later constructed a church.

In the aerial photograph the path that leads to the ruins of the puebloan settlement and church are visible. The visitor center lends the visitor a pamphlet for the self-guided tour.
