Here are photos from my Dads big adventure. An adventure that has to date seen him make his way from New Zealand to an island called St Martins in the Carribean, buy a big Catamaran, try to get it ship shape and set out on a trip that will see him sail more than half way around the world back to New Zealand.

After having many delays with getting the boat ship shape he finally set out from St Martins a couple of weeks later than planned, after spending a few weeks cruising around the Carribean he set off for Bonaire and then a town called Colon on the western coast of Panama. Here more problems were discovered on the boat that resulted in several more weeks of delays, thankfully though he was now out of range of the many hurricanes that have ripped through the Carribean this year. Eventually he set forth through the canal and then encountered head on winds to the Galapagos Islands, after a long arduous 2 weeks they eventually made it, boat mostly intact to the Galapagos Islands. Unfortunately now running several months behind schedule they only spent a few days in the Galapagos, got a few more repairs done, saw a little of the wildlife and set out for the Marquesas, the most north easterly of the French Polynesian islands. He is now currently just a couple of days away from Papeete on Tahiti.
