At an elevation of 9,350 ft, the air in Quito is thin but the colors are bright and the people are happy. The downtown area is alive with people going about their daily business, street vendors, and tourists. Beautiful colonial Spanish architecture, flowery balconies, and many churches make walking around in Quito a real pleasure.
