Painting with light
This one's for you Mike :) I shot this last summer just outside of Leader, Saskatchewan. I know the photo looks crooked, but it really is the house, not the horizon...

Another Nice Landing
Ok, I see it's time to shoot something other than birds, but I couldn't resist :)

Incoming
The Pelicans just don't seem too active @ 7 in the morning, so I turned my attention to the geese, again :) It 's a little hazy by the river, but I like the calmness of the water...

It must be love Part One
The same day I photographed the Canada Goose doing the hop, skip and a jump, Bas and I were at the weir waiting for the Pelicans to do something. But alas, they were still interested in lazing around on the sandbar.
While we were at the weir, I noticed this big gull eating minnows - minnow after minnow. I bet he downed at least 10 while we were there. I remember thinking he was quite a pig! All of a sudden, he started squawking at another gull that was coming in for a landing beside him. "Great, I'll get them fighting" I thought.
Well, the one that was eating stuck his beak into the other gulls mouth and started regugitating the minnows he had eaten earlier!! Talk about true love :)

Just a hop, skip and a jump!
So, this morning the Pelicans were just all laying around and doing nothing! I did get this Canada Goose doing a little jig as he was taking off though:)

A Canada Goose from above
Bas and I went looking for Pelicans at the weir this morning... they said on the radio that they had arrived. Well, I haven't seen them yet, but I did get a cool perspective of a Canada Goose!

JUNO Awards 2007
Three Days Grace performing "Pain" at the 2007 JUNO Awards. I love the light in this one, I don't care that you can't see his face...

Spring Run Off
I went down by the river today to see if I could spot some Canada Geese. I did, but I also saw this storm sewer that drains into the river. With plus 6C temperatures and bright sunshine, the water is sure flowing! The sign says "Danger Walkway Closed" - ya Think?
As a side note, I lost my cell phone in this water - oh well, it's time for a new one anyway...

Patrick LaForge - President & CEO Edmonton Oilers
Patrick LaForge speaking at the Saskatoon Blades Awards Banquet. I shot this one using available light and I converted to Black and white. I think it looks like the old Kodak Tri X or Ilford HP5 film emulsions. Thank you for coming to the banquet Mr. LaForge, it was an excellent presentation!!

Thank you Saskatoon hockey fans
Here's the last goodbye from the Saskatoon Blades after the last game of the 06-07 season. I guess it's next year country now.... and the last Blades game shot until September :(
