Message from Kylie Jackson
Kylie Jackson is a landscape, seascape and nature photographer located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Kylie’s journey as a photographer emanated from her passion for nature. Kylie grew up surrounded by the stunning landscapes and natural diversity of the northern New South Wales coast, specifically Yuraygir National Park. Her love for this area fuelled a need for a greater understanding of the fauna and flora that resided there and part of that study was to capture them on film; and so it began.
Kylie’s father spent many of his earlier years exploring these waterways and bushlands and eventually he went below the waters surface to pursue diving and ultimately into underwater photography. So it is not a surprise that before long Kylie would follow her father’s footsteps and commenced her journey in photography.
Kylie’s collection of fine art landscape, seascape and nature images were photographed during her travels to New Zealand, Whitsunday Islands, Moreton Bay, Stradbroke Island, Fraser Island, East-Coast Australia, Kangaroo Island and the Rainforests of South-East Queensland.
Kylie is also known for her collection of interior and still life photography. Her work is regularly used for websites and diverse advertising media. Her images have been selected for menus, flyers, posters, prints, framed images and television advertising.
Images taken by Kylie have been purchased both in Australia and overseas. Her work has also been selected for print in book publications including “Birds of the World” by Rod and Staff Publishing and the “Australian Bird Behaviour” McGraw Hill Education book. Kylie has a diploma in photography.
Kylie’s Uncle, Graeme Payne is a highly respected artist using mediums of ink, water-colour and oil. The detail in his stunning bird and landscape paintings are truly inspiring. Kylie credits his works in assisting her in her understanding of composition and lighting. If you are ever travelling through Grafton at the time of the Jacaranda Festival in October - November, do yourself a favour and visit his gallery whilst you are there. A link to his web site is featured on the next line.
