Hawaiian Rights

KU I KA PONO (JUSTICE in Hawaiian language) March sponsored by Ilio'ulaokalani Coalition.

The native people of Hawaii feel that the United States of America has overthrown the Kingdom of Hawaii founded by King Kamehameha the Great. This protest is in honor of the memory of Queen Liliuokalani, the last Royal Hawaiian Monarch. The Hawaiians are marching for the return of their land, restoration of the Kingdom ofm Hawaii and for dignity and respect.

Yet, their protest is mild and seems to fall on deaf EARS. Little progress is being made on this issue. Must they raise their voices ever louder. Must they cry out "JUSTICE". We the people of America owe them (our fellow countrymen). But, what and how much?

Was the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom a matter of historical fate? Or, poor leadership? Did the ever increasing inflow of immigrants from Asia, Eroupe and the United States doom the kingdom? Did Queen Liliuokalani take too drastic an action in trying to restore the power of the monarchy?   Well, I don't know. I just took pictures to share with you.
