RASC (Halifax Centre) St. Croix Observatory

Processing:

-Four 5 minute images converted to tiff and dark corrected using Paint Shop Pro.
-Stacked and flat field corrected using Deep Sky Stacker
-Image streteched and masked layer approach used to maintain detail in bright areas
-Noise reduction using Paint Shop Pro
-Final sharpen using Focus Magic (a Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro plugin)

Canon EOS 350D , Meade SN8 8" f4 telescope
Unmodified camera
20 minute exposure full exif

Outstanding images. I am about to purchase a DSLR and hope to begin astrophotography. I was thinking about a Nikon D40 or Canon Rebel XT. You may have convinced me. How long have you been at it? You seem to be highly skilled. Any recommendations or suggestions?
