Although this bank and wetland beside McDonald Creek are not far from Apgar, grizzlies, black bear, moose, cats, elk, and deer visit these waters. During today's hike, I tried to remain alert and respectful, saying "Hello" so as not to surprise grizzlies that might remain before hibernation, respectful because I was visiting the home locale of many species. I stood beside moose prints at several points along the way, and not far from where this photo was taken, a pile of feathers made clear that a not small bird had given itself as another animal's meal.
