Finally the temperature rose above zero; and we had a beautiful sunny day. Water was running off the roof and pooling under a spruce tree. A flock of American Goldfinches thought this was an ideal time to have their first bath in many months. The line from Ian Fleming's James Bond character: "Shaken; not stirred" came to mind……
