this huge moth (I estimate its breadth to be at least 15 cm across & that this one was a female) lives the vast majority of its life as a larva & takes to the air only briefly
this one was resting in the shade so I had very little ambient light
in the original there was a shadow from the flash, so for aesthetic's sake, I extracted the moth & placed him against a gradient background layer
