insufferably hot & humid in the summer, which extends from May through October, Houston is said to be the most air conditioned city on earth
the petrochemical industry was the reason for Houston's rapid growth, but from this base Houston has diversified & boasts the world's largest medical center & is home to many of the world's most comprehensive building firms
the Port of Houston, has the greatest foreign waterborne tonnage of any in the US
Houston has a diverse population & folks here are extraordinarily friendly
more than any place I have lived, this town embraces eccentricity

We lived in Houston in mid to late 80s. Your pictures brought back many nice memories. Thank you for sharing them. I have a small request. Can you show some pictures of Goode Company Barbeque on Kirby Drive? The parking lot used to be unpaved but that did not stop folks from parking their nice cars there. I've been back there twice and the lot was finally paved. I considered them having the best BBQ in Houston that time.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures. I was born in Bellaire and love Houston so much. You are right - it is the friendliest place on the Earth and eccentricity is not only embraced but promoted. I moved to Atlanta last year and I miss the Bayou City with all my heart. Thanks again for making this site.

lol, i knew those pictures would turn up again! one of my customers just came into the office and told me about your gallery, and there was a picture of me in it. i looked around, and i really like your work (and not just the pictures of me and my friends) :) -rachel (one of the 3 girls at the fountain)

Artichoke, I enjoyed your Houston gallery.I moved there in 1958 and left in 1970.Youngest son was born there and first son broke his arm falling off a horse where Galleria now stands.It used to be all pasture on Westheimer Rd. Very interesting pictures and I'll pass your site onto my son who graduated from Rice University. You got some great pictures. Now I'll go look at your other galleries. Thanks!
