Houston

I moved here in 1988, having only been below the Mason-Dixon Line once before for a wedding
insufferably hot & humid in the summer, which extends from May through October, Houston is said to be the most air conditioned city on earth
the petrochemical industry was the reason for Houston's rapid growth, but from this base Houston has diversified & boasts the world's largest medical center & home to many of the world's largest construction firms
the Port of Houston has the greatest foreign waterborne tonnage of any in the US & along with the international nature of the oil industry contributes to Houston's cosmopolitan spirit
this Gulf Coast mecca has a diverse population & folks here are extraordinarily friendly & generous
more than any place I have lived, this great metropolis embraces eccentricity
