Hi Russ,
Sorry they are Wood Storks, not ibis. These birds are twice the size of ibis. That these birds stopped by my yard for a visit itself is unusual as I live within a mile of downtown Ft. Lauderdale. This is not the normal area for them to be in, but I do have lot of native plants, bushes and trees for them. It's also a nice sized yard where there is room to roam without being disturbed. The native plants attract lots of insects and other critters as I call them so there is something for anything that visits here. I also note all the exits on I-95 in my area but the Southernmost have recently been redesigned and replanted. Most have water areas and all have native plants only. These exits attract lots of wildlife, as there isn't too much else around with all I mentioned above for wildlife. It's a sad state when a beautiful place like Broward County gets overbuilt, but fortunately the county has purchased as many tracks of vacant land available and turned them into native area's to provide shelter and food for wildlife. Thanks to the county efforts we have a lot of these natural area's, some of which are only a couple of acres, and lots of folks like myself here that have Florida Friendly Yards so this wildlife has place to go, even if it's just for a quick visit as was the case with these Wood storks.

looks like a beautiful yard, and I'm learning a lot from your b'fly photos. These birds shown here are actually white ibis, which like to probe in sod. Storks have heavier bills and unfeathered necks, and usually forage in standing water. thanks, Russ Titus
