This is one of many images I shot on a cold afternoon this past March at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area outside of Harrisburg, PA. This image has been sitting in my PC since then, and I only noticed the out of focus bald eagle in the upper right hand corner of the frame after enlarging it on my computer screen. I remember being frustrated that day because I had noticed a pair of eagles sitting on a branch off to to the side of the area I was shooting, but they were too far away to photograph. Some of the "blast offs" I photographed were caused by one of the eagles taking off from the branch. At one point, one of the eagles flew directly into the wall of geese. Within seconds, it was down on the ice tearing a goose apart. This was a violent event, but amazing to watch.
