Jarrar,

I am hoping your will revisit and read this message. Thanks for leaving the long message. Yes indeed I am the same Arif with the roller skates (those probably do not exist anymore and so obviously reflect our age). Of course I remember Fuad Sachwani and Adil Nicolwala. I met Fuad many times after Burn Hall, partly in Karachi and then in Dubai. Have not been in touch with Adil who was once in the same dorm. I understand that he is presently an established medical doctor in Karachi. You never left an email address, so I had no way of responding to you other than here.
Good wishes.

Hello Arif,
I stumbled upon your photo of Burn Hall via a Google search. I attended in 1968 through 1970. I knew Salim Sethi and all the rest of the students during that time and have very fond memories of my time there.
Thank you,

While the Ephesus Boutique hotel is really great it is about 10 to 15 kms from Ephesus. It would be best if did rent a car. I think that the drivers there were just fine. I had no problems at all. They seem to have a bad reputation for no real reason. The drivers here is Quebec or in Ontario are quite similar. Sometimes careful and at times quite strange and unpredictable.
Guest 10-Jan-2008 20:26
Arif,

You have a remarkable eye; quite breathtaking.

We're staying at the Ephesus Boutique hotel for 2 nights in March - is it difficult to get to Ephesus from there if you don't have a car? We're flying to Izmir airport and were worried about renting a car based on what we've read about Turkish drivers (we just returned from a car trip in southern mexico and it was a truly terrifying road trip that we are not wanting to repeat anytime soon!).

Hello Arif,
I was looking for some beautiful photos of Pakistan on Google (because someone said to me that only terrorists come from Pakistan) and I happened on your photos. I remember seeing some of them in Montreal but this time I took a good look. Your photos make me want to go there. I sent one photo of the mountains to my husband as he loves mountaineering (and photography). It will make him wishful as he is in Libya right now. Thank you for these beautiful captivating scenes. Keep up the good work. It is appreciated in all parts of the world.
best wishes to you and the family, Tamzin (in Brussels)

I chanced upon your site while researching Lahore Fort on the web and was astounded by your unique views of this heritage sight that I have often visited, and is beautiful in itself. And I have been pleasantly surprised by all the photos in all your galleries, and have sat fawning at the delectable images! How is it that you've captured all my favourite places in the world?! Needless to say, my husband and I have been busy planning trips to rediscover these countries due to your work. You are to be highly commended on your work - please try to put them together in book form - I'm sure this would be successful! Good luck for all future endeavours.

Arif

I was digitising some family photos of Swat, Skardu and Kashmir (taken in the mid l960's) and thought I would look for some more images of Northern Pakistan. Hit your site and had my breath taken away. Simply stunning pictures, almost as good as being there and they certainly makes me dream of going back. I was only 6 at the time but that sort of scenery once seen leaves a lasting impression. It seems such a long way away from Sussex UK!

Hi Arif,
I love your gallery, especially the pictures from France. I am a French teacher from Switzerland and looking desperately for pictures of France, French cities and everything that is related to France for educational purposes. The problem is, that all the pic galleries want money for their pictures...
Can I download your pictures and use them in a story that illustrates the use of French tenses? If so, I certainly will indicate the source of the pictures.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Arif,
Thanks for visiting my galleries and your kind comments. I understand you live in Montreal. I have really good souvenirs from my two trips to Canada (Quebec one year, BC & the Rockies the year after). Unfortunately all pics are still on film and I find neither the time nor the energy to scan them.
I like you gallery of Montreal in winter & the beautiful landscape of Pakistan. I travelled 4-5 times to Pakistan for business a few years ago and heard abou the beautiful mountains. Unfortunately I never had the chance to go there. The only places I know in Pakistan are Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad.

Arif Khan01-Jan-2004 17:13
Hi, Thanks for the guestbook entry. I too love the Autumn and Winter ones. The ones from Pakistan are scanned from negatives or slides, so it is such a shame that I have lost out on resolution and quality. Perhaps I will be able to go again one day with the digital camera.

There is a valley there very high in the mountains at the base camp of the Nanga Parbat called "Fairy Meadows" that is on my Must Visit list. Nanga Parbat is a majestic mountain which is I believe the fifth highest mountain on earth and also known as "Killer Mountain" because of the number of climbers who have died climbing it. One of these days I hope to able to go again.....
