Chitral Valley - A Flight on PIA Thorugh the Hindu Kush Mountains

Chitral is a beautiful valley surounded by high mountains of the Hindu Kush in the North West Frontier Provence of Pakistan.

The best thing about a Fokker F27 Friendship is that it does not fly too high. So it was just perfect for this recent air-safari to Chitral. Thanks to Captain Shayan Haqqee, I was able to take these photos from the cockpit. It was a delightful trip that I will not forget easily.

Arif Sahib The best pictorial discription of journey to Chitral. The quality of the pictures are simply EXCELLENT.......Beleive me I have never seen such great pictures so far. I am originally from Chitral and would like to ask you if you have such great pictures of Shandur Polo, if so can you please share those as well. Once again a big hand of applause for these pictures :)

by posting such wonderful photos, you have done a great job for those who have never been to Chitral and for those who can recall those lovely moments spent in Chitral before. I belong to Chitral (Reshun) and the reason that mesmerized me to post my comments is because I am far away from my beautiful native place and my country. I have posted a map of a part of NWFP where you can see the location of Chitral: http://www.pbase.com/arifakhan/image/52765821 No, fortunately Chitral was not affected by the earthquake that hit Northern Pakistan on October 8, 2005. It was mostly Azad Kashmir that was affected with parts of NWFP.

these are wonderful photos, thanks for sharing them. I feel as though I should know but whereabouts in Pakistan is the Chitral? Was it badly effected in the earthquake. Thinking of you and all those who were. regards.
