The last night of Queen's Pier, 31Jul2007

Queen's Pier, named after Queen Victoria, is a public ceremonial pier in front of City Hall in Edinburgh Place, Central, Hong Kong. "Queen's Pier" has been witness to the official arrival in Hong Kong of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Charles and Diana, and all of Hong Kong's Governors since and including Cecil Clementi. It has also witnessed many social movements in the 60s, including the 1966 civic movement against fare raising of Star Ferry. The place of Edinburgh & Star Ferry also has been a famous tourist spot of Hong Kong. In 2007, the Star Ferry & Queen's Pier was demolished in spite of voices of heavy protestes from the public.
