images like this tear me apart (and i have my own, taken to try and make sense and order of the inner conflict, yet i can no longer bear to look at them). as an animal-loving, life-protecting vegan, i find it so hard to acknowledge that scenes like this exist, yet i fight with knowing that in countries such as Cambodia any food source is a valuable one. it's something i will always struggle with...especially knowing that the West's consumption of meat and animal products is only making the third world hunger problem worse.
