I was there in October '03.
You do have to pay to get there but it is very cheap. I think there is little water in the dry season though.

Love this place I went swimming here in 1998 and have tried to go back on 2 subsequent ocassions but was advised that they had dried up. It may have had something to do with the boat mafia which was charging to take you downstream to the falls.
