We knew it would be a good day when a Cerulean Warbler was heard in our yard as we headed out to Guesses Fork to pick blackberries. Michelle, Chazzy and I along with Michelle's mother Shirley spent the morning picking berries and enjoying the sights on the mountain. By lunchtime, we had picked over 4 gallons of blackberries that will be turned into jams and jellies. I decided to hike out along the reclaimed mine site and came across a pair of Solitary Sandpipers and a Red-shouldered Hawk. There were lots of butterflies, insects and wildflowers along the way to keep me busy taking pictures.
