Our last tour stop in Beijing, the Summer Palace was home to the dowager empress known as the Dragon Lady.
The emperor died when her son was only 3 years old. He became a puppet emperor with his mother ruling in the background.
There are many beautiful buildings here, but they were very difficult to photograph with smog and haze.
