My daughter and I attended the Rockville Arts and Music Festival in Rockville Maryland, on Saturday, September 18, 2004. While we were there we saw two fabulous bands with very different flavors and an awesome magician.
The first band, La Firma (from Washington, D.C.), had a latin groove that made you want to shake your hips to their sultry salsa, merengue, and mambo beats. The singers evoked such emotion that you were glued to the stage. For more information regarding La Firma go to: http://www.lafirma.com.
The second band, New Birth Brass Band (from New Orleans) had upbeat vibes (consisting of big band and jazz) with a New Orleans flair that had hundreds of spectators, including my six year old daughter, dancing in the streets of Rockville, Maryland. For more information regarding the New Birth Brass Band go to: http://www.newbirthbrass.com.
The magician was great. He balanced a knife on his nose, caught fruit on a fork after juggling them and also juggled while riding a 6 foot tall unicycle.
It was a fun filled day for children of all ages and I hope you enjoy your visit to the Rockville Arts and Music Festival through my camera lens.
