Thats me in the purple! And those are my aunteis in front of me...as for hawk wings they are indee not, they are in fact Eagle wing. It was really hot that day, but were sooo happy to be there we danced the whole way and danced like we were taught, the old way in a line.

The "jingles" were originally made from tobacco tin lids, shaped by hand into a cone but now the jingles can be bought ready made. When the women dance, one foot must always be on the ground, unlike shawl dancers who leap and twirl. This is a healing dance. I really like how you've pictured these women, with the sweep of the line going by....I can almost hear them.
