While strolling around the Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, some restoration work was taking place on one of the wings.As often happens nowadays a piece of temporary artwork had been installed to cover over the repairs and scaffolding etc. This artwork portrayed a 17th century scene but there was mischief afoot despite the fact that the workers were dressed appropriately - note the laptop sitting on the table!! Meanwhile out in front two young women from the 21st century were just finishing off a quick picnic. One of the figures in the artwork looks at them in a startled sort of way. With this mix of scenes from different centuries i decided to call the image The Generation Gap. Only a minute or so after I had taken the picture, the young women got up quickly and left
