In September 2002, I undertook a Career Break or a Sabbatical as they say across the Atlantic. My goal was to travel and over the three years I was lucky enough to visit some of the world's greatest sights. My camera equipment consisted of an old Nikon FE with 24mm lens and a Bronica ETRS with 50mm 75mm and 150mm lenses. The images I took were for the most part satisfactory. Looking back on the great adventure after 10 years, the only small regret that I have is that my time off came at the point where digital photography was about to take over from the traditional genre. Had I set out a few years later, then I might have been able to use a digital camera and saved myself some extra effort. This extra effort involved sending off what I considered to be the best images from each trip for scanning at high resolution (3072 x 2848). Scanning too was not at the level it probably is today although I was happy enough with what i got done and the price was reasonable at £0.50 per slide. I was then able to print these images to A4 size and thus make them much more easily viewable to my friends. Now in recent times I have gone back to re-visit the best of these images and with the improvements in technology and my increased knowledge of Photoshop, I have been able to print my favourite images to A3 size. Here is a selection for you to view. Hope you enjoy looking at them.
