I was gone from HK already by this time. I still remembered fondly the original Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank building. What classical architecture. I still believe it was a crime to have torn it down. I am afraid Norman Foster's building just doesn't do it for me. If that was at any other mature city in the world at that time, it would never have been allowed. The lost of a heritage buldings kills a bit of the soul of the city. Unfortunately it has happened all too often in HK.
