Thanks for the info on this area which I knew and loved as well. To help date the picture it had to be taken around July to September 1980 as I was only in HK over that period during the summer holidays.

Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter from the elevated walkway near Paterson Street. This picture was taken in June 1980. This is the only place that has not changed that much. I was born in this area in 1949 and lived here continiously ever since. I saw the landfill of Victoria Park in the 1950s and the development of Tin Hau from a small residential area, to factories, then to a major residential town. I have lots of photos of this area in black and white and I would try to post it somewhere on the web.

i left hk 2 months later after u taking this photo. all my memories are in this area. this shelter is ver close to the victoria park. i grew up in the park. i went fishing here by the shelter. all those sweet old days. all gone now. thx for posting the pics. this is the least i can see now
