Testing the wind (Xysticus sp.)

A spider releasing a thread of spider silk. They do that to reach other places or even to drift with the wind. This is a spider of the genus Xysticus. This animal shows a behaviour called ballooning, they ride on spider silk threads to reach new plants or just to get away from where they are. This one is also showing something called tiptoeing behavior, she stands up on her legs and rises her abdomen in the air.
