The Shuttleworth Collection Uncovered 22 Sept 2012
My annual visit to Old Warden airfield, this time to see the Shuttleworth Collection for the Uncovered show. Lots of the collection were available for visitors to walk around and photograph. A wonderful flying display to end the day: most of the pictures are from that.
The highlights were two new replicas of First World War aircraft: a German Albatross and a British RE8 (known as Harry Tate). They made what are supposed to be their last flights: they are now going to the RAF Museum at Hendon.
Very much the feel of the last day of summer. A wonderful day with fabulous light and aircraft you won't see the like of anywhere else.
