As a holiday escape from the cold wintery days in Germany, we flew to Sharm El-Sheikh on the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. We enjoyed a relaxing week there from Dec 22 to Dec 29. Although a bit cooler there than expected and at times quite windy, the cloudless days with deep blue sky and warm sun were rejuvenating for both of us! The temperature of the Red Sea was a mere 75 degrees Farenheit, but seemed amazingly warm with a 5 mm wetsuit. The Belvedere Resort was absolutely beautiful and had very nice accomidations, great food, and the best service of anywhere we have ever travelled. Most of the guests were primarily Italian, but we met a few others from England and Germany. There were many Russians also.
