Karlsruhe is the closest large city to Woerth, about 10 minutes East across the Rhine. The city is laid out like a big fan, with all streets leading to the Schloss. The open markets and cafes in Marktplatz and Europaplatz are so beautiful. Post Galerie in Europaplatz was formerly a post office, now converted to a mall with nice shops and resturants.

The bike paths along the Rhine are seemingly endless. So nice to go there in the afternoon to run and watch all the barges come and go.

Ettlingen is a small town 15 minutes SE of Woerth. The town is really pretty, but the forest bike/hiking trails there are amazing! There are literally trails everywhere! We have enjoyed going there and exploring all the paths and sights, especially enjoying unusually warm Fall days with all the colorful leaves.
