Love the placement of the white board and the telephone number on the wall.

***When I first saw this, I saw a body with no face -- a symbol of menial labor, which can be done by anyone and takes no special knowledge or skills. Looking more closely, I saw the face for first first time, bent close to her work, and highly abstracted by shadow. She appears to be very intent on what she is doing. I don't know what the signs say, but I assume they are advertising the nature of her work or service. The black panel swallows her, and perhaps implies that her work is irrelevant. Is hand labor such as this a fading skill? Is she already a relic of preceding century? This picture asks the viewer such questions, and it is up to us to answer them.

Great W&B photo. Seem; photo inside to photo.

If ever there was the slightest chance I could go to Shanghai, I'd want to have you for my guide. You find and see so much and record it so well.

Exceptional and great choice the b&w effect.
Bravo!

Wonderfully taken Jen. The invisible witness...you see the world while not disturbing it with your presence...that is totaly against the laws of physics..but you do it. She is half in darkness, half in light, almost a representation of her her life. China and Shanghai are full of people who straddle the light of hope and the darkness of being left behind. Rgds, Kal
