I think Jen that this photo has some good points first of all the first terme of the street light that leads us the way to the next one, that was very clever, the second is the perspective you achieve as a path too the statue and at the same time it gives a scale incongruence. Anyway, the feeleng of this photo is that it is a misserable rainy day close to the see, cold, windy and rainy. Perfect day to stay at home

I have a thing for statues, too. (My wife says its because they all stand still for me.) You use perspective and geometric juxtaposition to contrast the street light and palms to the distant figure in the mist.
