These are a few snapshots from about 10-12 rows back during the bows after Saturday's Ravel Piano Concerto in G and just before the encore of the final movement from Ravel's Mother Goose piano duet.
A friend (thank you, E.S.) has provided us (somewhat distorted) audio of (1) the beautifully played, ethereal middle movement of the Ravel (Saturday) and (2) the encore with MTT, which you can stream by clicking on one of the choices below -- they can be played while viewing the photos or webbing away.
The San Francisco Symphony did broadcast the Ravel Piano Concerto on KDFC 3/17/09.
No flash was allowed for even curtain calls, a friend found out, when they almost confiscated his camera on Friday because he had used flash for the bows (which used to be ok). I've uploaded a short videoclip of the gracious Martha Argerich backstage on Friday night. |
