Knoxville News Sentinel story, 1997. (Bushy things below, are trees.)

Realizing those are trees below may give an idea why some felt it was not a natural formation.

the reason why people don't get samples or close-up investigations of mt. ararat for noah's ark is because the turkey govt wont allow people to do it

John,
I was just a tourist taking pictures and bringing back a report on the place we were told was interesting. And it was.

But I don't think you saw the photo gallery front page, which is at
http://pbase.com/andrys/noah

I have tons of information there from expeditions and close-up photos but they are,
nevertheless, questionable due to bias and less than carefull studies.

I have lots of links to pro and con viewpoints about this on that page. Some say
there's too much info :-)

I'm not convenced. It doesnt seem to fit the discription in the Bible. It would be helpful if an expedition could be mounted to investigate this sight and bring back samples and close-up photographs. Why are we always expected to believe a picture of low quality as proof of anything? Why is there never a really good close-up pictures?

Leroy where can we see this pic u have? Also doesn't God say that the Ark landed upon the mountains of Ararat? Is it just a coinsidence that this structure looks like a boat/ship?

This IS Noah's Ark!

I have read the book Deal wrote about the findings....and if it is NOT the ark of Noah...then what is it? Why would the ark land upon a high and icy mountain, rather than a flat tabletop, Like the one described by Deal....where there are rock springs for fresh water and a flat area to "debark" from the ark. How it got to the place where it was finally noticed
about 50 years ago, by a shepherd boy after an earthquake...is explained well by Deal. The important thing that Deal noticed and went to investigate were the hundreds and hundreds of gravesites on the hillside .....perhaps the ancient burial ground for Naxuan. I do not see anywhere on Mt. Ararat where these things could have happened...and Mt. judi
is in the Ararat chain...part of the several mountains in site of Ararat peak.

yeah if thats noah's ark i got about thirty arks he must of built at the bottom of mt.rainer in washington.. guess your going to miss jesus when he comes back too .. if you think a glacier covered in dirt moving down a mountain is the ark!

The shape of this boat outline is not box shape like Noah's Ark was.

This picture of the boat of Noah's Ark is not long enought, just 500 feet.
Using the Holly Cubit that the Israelites used to create the Ark of the Covenant, and Noah's Boat Ark was 25.025 inches.
Length 300 Cubits X 25.025 = 7507.5 / 12 = 625.625 Feet long.
Width 50 Cubits X 25.025 = 1251.25 / 12 = 104.27083333333333333333333333333 Feet wide.
Height 30 Cubits X 25.025 = 750.75 / 12 = 62.5625 Feet high.
And I think you are looking in the wrong place.

genesis 8:4 says: And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
