23-OCT-2009 Caretaker at Red Pyramid, Dahshu

At Red Pyramid - Dahshur

Dahshur, Egypt

The caretaker offered to take a pic with my camera.

I think I was exhausted just thinking of it. This was 100 feet up, the
last third of that via non-shaped boulders, so they put metal hand rails on those.

The ceiling inside is so low that even a short person like me has to bend down.

But going down to visit the burial chambers would be 200+ feet down a
narrow, low-ceiling'd, dark, slippery ramp. Sooo, back out to that hot sun!

Average temps are 95 - 100, with little let-up.

Awww. I WAS sad later to lose that hat though. It had a nice sun-protection flap in the back.
Left it in a pew at Madaba. Hope someone's enjoying it...

Love this picture, Andrys. You didn't look tired to me. You looked relaxed and happy. :-)
