But I wondered at how some people reacted to the sudden jerky movements when getting on,
when camels do a move that suddenly throws them backwards and then a move in the other direction.

  I've heard that a longer ride on one can be fairly hard on the legs and rump, and
from what I saw I did imagine some having mild whiplashes if they weren't prepared.

  The camels look really sweet, generally, though they're accused of sometimes being
moody.  I wouldn't be too happy carrying all those strangers every day either :-)
