Portrait with controlled exposures?

I wanted to get the sculpture and some of Florence through the windows.

First one ----- No Florence visible through the window.
Second one -- Florence showing, but bust is too dark.
Third one ---- Closer. A bit of each.
I exposed for the Dying Alexander (the Great) sculpture.
No Florence thru' window, just white block

I exposed for the "Dying Alexander" (the Great) sculpture.

I deleted the actual shot. Emulating it here. Used meter on window.
Florence showing but can't see figure.

I metered an area that gave averaged lighting.
