| This was my first visit to the new California Academy of Sciences. The most awesome experience that day was the Planetarium, but they don't allow photos - You can get an idea what that's like in this official photo. It was like a being in a space shuttle that was lifted out of the building and over San Francisco, the entire U.S., Earth itself, and finally taken to the furthest reaches of space as we 'see' it.
But there is a lot else to enjoy there and we were there 5 hours, until closing time. The
The pictures here are of the old pendulum marking the Earth's movement; the new Penguins on their 'Island' (photos were taken behind glass); the transplanted Africa exhibit from the old Academy building; and the new Aquarium area.
