Vietnam's last imperial capital - Hue. A relatively small city of ~300,000 people with the Perfume River dividing the town in two. On the North bank is the Citadel, enclosing the palace, temples and gardens of the old Imperial City. On the South bank is with the new/french quoter. When Emperor Bao Dai abdicated in 1945 power shifted from Hue to Hanoi and Saigon.
