The Devil's Bridge (Dyavolski most) is an arch bridge over the Arda River. It is located 10 km from the town of Ardino in the Rhodopes. The bridge was built in the 14-17th century - exact year is unknown. It's 56 m long, 3.5 m wide with 11.5 m clearance (high). Tip - the dirt track from Ardino to the bridge is so bad, if you love your car don't use it to get there.
According to Wikepedia "the brigde is part of the ancient road connecting the lowlands of Thrace with the north Aegean Sea coast." I don't see how's this possible. This is a bridge which leads to nowhere. Both ends of the bridge are literally finishing in steep, rocky, goat tracks, with no trace of any road at any early stage. It would be a challenge for a mounted horse to get trough. Why someone would built such a huge bridge in that wild, isolated place without any (decent) in/out roads is a mystery to me.
