Fuji S6500fd(S6000fd) and Olympus SP-550 samples

These are samples I shot in the cathedral of Passau in Bavaria. The sequences were taken with P and in A setting starting at ISO 100 (Fuji) and ISO50 (Oly). I made a small mistake: all Fuji images were shot with sharpening set to "soft". But I think the results are impressive: the Fuji is even without stabilzer better by far. Just my opinion. I wanted to sell my Fuji and keep the Olympus, but I changed my mind. Another problem is Oly's fringing in sometimes three colors (purple, red and green) at the long end of the zoom. Even if the Fuji images are upsampled to Oly's resolution they show more detail - much more.

I disagree, I think he kept the right camera. Take a look at the ISO 400 images inside the cathedral. The faster shutter speed has significantly reduced the blurring, so the fuji image approaches the sharpness of the iso 100 images of the SP-500. However, with the noise on the SP-550 at ISO-400 this image is not very usable. This is a great example of lower noise versus image stabilization. If you have to choose, which image would you pick, and therefore which camera???

In downloading the two sets, running them through Photoshop, correcting the color balance of the Olympus shots and adding Smart Sharpening, it appears you decided to keep the wrong camera....you can't even hold the Fuji still enough to get a sharp image inside the cathedral at 28mm without going all the way to ISO 800. That softness is not because the sharpening was set to soft or they would have sharpened up in Photoshop...it's due to camera shake.
