The 80th running of the Port Huron to Mackinac Sailboat Race took place on July 17th. We locals call the festivities during the week before the race "Boat Week". This gallery captures a bit of the excitement going on in our little town.
The race starts here in Port Huron, MI at the southern tip of Lake Huron and ends up at Mackinac Island. Taking the long course, that's 253 nautical miles. There's a lot of beautiful boats in town and starting Thursday afternoon before the race, the party really starts.
