Where the Forest meets the Desert

Looking east north of Mount Laguna at an elevation of about 5,000ft ca. 1,500m.
The Desert is at sea level, so this is a considerable drop.
The abrupt change of landscape is caused mainly by the fact that it rarely rains east of the Mountains.

That elevation lift from the coast really pulls all the moisture before the fronts move eastward. Love the diversity of the landscape.
