The area of lower mid-town Manhattan close-by the Hudson River has long been a meat packing district, though most, if not, all of that has now migrated away from here. More recently, gentrification has brought in art galleries where once the cows came home (to be processed into your diabetes-inflicting Triple Whopper...), restaurants (a natural evolution), bars & lounges and the wonderful Chelsea Market, an upscale indoor shoppers heaven of wine shops, bakeries, floral shops, restaurants and the weekly Chelsea Market milonga. For many years, that milonga was held on Saturday afternoons, roughly 4-7pm, but as I discovered on a recent visit, it now takes place on Friday's from 6-9pm.
