When weather turned sour & ugly, we found refuge at the US Forest Service's
Begich-Boggs Visitor Center at the lake left behind by the retreat of
Portage Glacier, at the eastern end of Turnagain Arm, which itself is the
eastern terminus of Cook Inlet. We were fortunate to see a pod of greyish-white
beluga whales slipping through the high tide of the Arm returning from Portage.
