One morning, by the statue in the centre of the Vrijdagmarkt Square, Ghent.
This was the end of an unintelligible sort of ceremony, involving some university students..... I think.
The previous evening there had been another mystifying event at the same spot, involving a larger group of young people, some with headgear, a banner, some sporadic shouting and tin can beating, and assorted small items I couldn't make out. It went on for some time, seemed disorganized, and ended suddenly when they all dispersed, apparently sober, in different directions.
