The church of St John the Baptist at Findon stands on a wooded slope at the end of a long track, alongside Findon Place, the Georgian manor house. It is well away from the centre of the village, which has developed in its present location on the other side of a main road, since the 17th century. The church has 11th century origins, but was extended in the 12th and 13th centuries.
