Five of us took a short road trip to Eureka on Labor Day weekend. Eureka is a small town with many old Victorian houses. After visiting Ferndale and Shelter Cove on the second day, we stayed at a even smaller town called Redway. To get to Shelter Cove from Ferndale, we took a shorter but rougher terrain road which requires a SUV. For almost 2hours of driving on this road, we only saw 2 cars. I regret for not taking a picture of us driving through a tiny creek even though we drove past 6 tiny creeks. I thought we would encounter another creek after passing the last one but I was wrong :-)
On the way back, we drove next to Pacific Ocean using Hwy 1. Unfortunately, the weather was foggy. Listening to retro and 1990s songs for most of the trip made me miss the holiday trip with my old high school friends when I was 15.
