May I use this photo as a model for a painting of pellicans? I will not sell the painting, I am doing it for a fun exhibit at our little art club. Every month we have a different theme, this month is pellicans.

I am not a good artist. I live in Grove, Oklahoma and the brown pellicans pause here for a while every September. They come in by the hundreds, and are so beautiful in flight. They are shy, stay on the islands in the huge lake, and it is hard to get a close-up shot of them. Your pelicans are grey, but I will paint them brown.

I notice there is a band on the leg of one pelican. Or is it a "wedding ring" from his mate next to him? Her? :-)
